  [Plant resources] There are more than 3,000 kinds of plants in Ezhou City, mainly including grains, oil crops, melons, fruits and vegetables. There are 83 families, 192 genera and 358 species of woody plants, mainly including bamboo and trees. There are more than 60 kinds of aromatic plants, mainly including herbaceous and woody plants. There are 125 families and 542 species of medicinal plants. 

  [Biological resources] In Ezhou City, there are 21 families and 106 species of fish, of which 63 species belong to the carp family, accounting for 60% of the total number of fish. Other rare fish also grow locally. Salangid produced in Liangzi Lake sells well at home and abroad. There are more than 10 kinds of poultry and more than 20 kinds of livestock. It is also home to wild life, including more than 20 kinds of animals, more than 40 kinds of birds, and dozens of reptiles and shrimp and shellfish. 

  [Mineral resources] The metal mineral resources in Ezhou City are mainly iron, copper and molybdenum, and the non-metallic mineral resources include coal, anhydrite, zeolite, bentonite, perlite and sulfur. The proven iron ore reserve is 250 million tons, ranking the second in the province. With the mining of iron ore, about 210,000 tons of copper metal are retained. The proven anhydrite reserve is 37.52 million tons, the sulfur reserve is 2.2628 million tons, the total coal reserve is 27.84 million tons, and the bentonite reserve is 7.43 million tons. 

  [Water resources] The average rainfall in Ezhou City is 1230.4 mm in depth, equivalent to 1.970 billion cubic meters of precipitation. The surface water resource in Ezhou City is 905 million cubic meters, the underground water resource is 190 million cubic meters, the non-double calculation between the surface water and the underground water is 161 million cubic meters, and the water resource amounts to 1.066 billion cubic meters. The annual water storage capacity of lakes and rivers is 999.53 million cubic meters. The total water supply in the city is 882.81 million cubic meters, and the total water consumption is 270.39 million cubic meters, leading to a total water consumption rate of 19.9%.
