A City of Science and Technology on the Rise

  According to the newly released City Index of Science and Technology Innovation by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Ezhou ranks the 95th among 289 cities at prefecture level and above, and the 4th in the province. It is close to Wuhan, the second largest intelligence-intensive area in China, and is a crucial part of the Optical Valley, China’s emerging technological innovation corridor. The city has invited key institutions, including Ezhou Industrial Research Institute of China University of Science and Technology, as well as Precision Measurement Innovation Institute of Chinese Academy of Sciences, to settle. The first cold chain supply chain center in China, the first e-commerce base in Central China, and the first new energy battery base in Hubei are being established here. Ezhou has been emphasizing innovation as the core of development, carrying out in-depth implementation of the innovation-driven development strategy, cooperating to construct the scientific and technological innovation corridor in Optical Valley, vigorously developing emerging industries and futuristic industries, and speeding up the upgrading of traditional industries. Ezhou is determined to improve the industrial and academic connection, set up generic technology platforms, create state-level science and technology business incubators, and promote the construction of the Gedian Development Zone, the industrial incubation base of the air-transportation economic zone, the Wutong Lake science and technology business incubator, etc.
