On 22nd August, the highly anticipated "2023 Top 500 Economically Thriving Towns Nationwide and Top 50 in the West" report was jointly released by CCID Consulting Co., Ltd. and CCID Research Institute (Group) of Industry and Information Technology Sichuan Co., Ltd., and Hubei Province proudly boasts 14 towns that have secured a spot among the top 500, with Gedian Town in Huarong District standing out as the sole representative from the province to make it into the top 100. Gedian Town has achieved an impressive national ranking of 46th and has claimed the top spot within Hubei Province. Additionally, Miaoling Town in Huarong District secures the 494th position nationwide and the 14th position within Hubei Province.
To be included in the top 500 list, towns must meet a set threshold, which mandates a minimum general public budget income of RMB 150 million. Moreover, the evaluation process takes into account four factors including economic strength, development level, industrial prowess and consumer capacity.
Looking at the regional distribution of the top 500 towns, it becomes evident that the eastern region holds a significant advantage. Notably, it is worth highlighting that half of the 14 towns from our province that made it onto the list are concentrated within the Wuhan metropolitan area.
