Fast-Tracking the Development of Ezhou Airport Bonded Logistics Centre (Type B) Project

  On 9th October, the construction site of the Ezhou Airport Bonded Logistics Centre (Type B) was a hive of activity, with heavy machinery operating at full throttle, and workers fully committed to their tasks. 

  Liao Zhigang, the person in charge of the Hubei Industrial Construction Group overseeing the Ezhou Airport Bonded Logistics Centre (Type B) project, shared that their dedicated workers continued construction without taking any breaks during the Mid-autumn Festival and the National Day holidays. By far, the main structure has been 83% completed, and the construction of the main road has reached 50% completion. The ongoing task focuses on the installation of purlins. The plan is to commence roof tile installation on 15th October, with the goal of finishing the main structure's roof by 30th October. 

  Latest data suggests that the Bonded Logistics Centre (Type B) consists of 278 isolated footings and bearing platforms, with a combined steel structure weight of 800 tons. Up till now, 260 of these footings and bearing platforms have been successfully poured, resulting in a completion rate of 93.53%. In Warehouse 3, 710 tons of steel structure have been installed, reaching an installation rate of 88.75%. Similarly, Warehouse 2 has seen the installation of 680 tons of steel structure, achieving a completion rate of 85%. As for Warehouse 1,300 tons of steel structure have been installed, accounting for a completion rate of 37.5%. Regarding the main road, progress has been made with the completion of 1,000 metres of the planned 1,400 metres of rainwater pipes, as well as 350 metres of the intended 450 metres of sewage pipes. Additionally, 200 metres of the planned 1,150 metres of graded crushed stone have been successfully laid, with 600 metres of roadbed treatment completed.

  The customs inspection area comprises a total of 119 isolated footings and bearing platforms, all of which have been successfully completed, resulting in a completion rate of 100%. As for the office building, the construction reached a significant milestone on 5th October when it was fully capped. The steel structure, including purlins, weighs a total of 530 tons. At present, 450 tons of processed components have been delivered to the site, out of which 420 tons have already been installed, leading to an impressive completion rate of 79.24%.

  The international cargo station, which includes special storage, consists of a total of 139 isolated footings. All of these footings have been successfully completed, resulting in a remarkable completion rate of 100%. The steel structure, weighing a total of 1,300 tons, has seen significant progress with the installation of 1,000 tons, achieving a completion rate of 76.92%. The construction of the office building reached an important milestone on 8th October when it was officially capped.

  On 8th October, the pouring of the 10.7-metre customs checkpoint section was successfully completed.

  The Ezhou Airport Bonded Logistics Centre (Type B) project is an extensive undertaking with a substantial investment of approximately RMB 530 million. Spanning an area of around 150 mu (approx.0.1km2), it encompasses a total construction area of approximately 46,000 m2, out of which the storage area accounts for approximately 37,000 m2. The project includes the construction of customs-supervised warehouses, customs inspection centres, international cargo stations, checkpoints, customs fencing, and customs information engineering. The anticipated timeline for completion and utilisation is by the end of this year.
