At 10:56 on 28th October, the inaugural cargo flight from Ezhou to Osaka departed from Huahu Airport, marking the opening of over 10 international cargo routes at Huahu Airport.
Since 1st April of this year, SF Airlines has been steadily launching seven international cargo routes from Ezhou to destinations including Belgium, India, the United States, and the United Arab Emirates. Then, from 26th October to 28th October, SF Airlines consecutively inaugurated three additional international cargo routes: Ezhou-Singapore, Ezhou-Kuala Lumpur, and Ezhou-Osaka.
Huahu Airport has set up a cargo aviation network extending from Ezhou to Asia, Europe, and North America and is fast-tracking the development of a top-notch international air cargo hub. In mid-October, SF Airlines expanded its fleet by adding two freighters, bringing the total to 86 aircraft, which has substantially increased the transportation capacity at Huahu Airport.
As the cargo route network rapidly expands and the route capacity increases, Ezhou Customs has introduced a 24/7 clearance system, enabling continuous customs clearance, inspection upon arrival, and immediate release, ensuring swift customs clearance upon arrival at Huahu Airport. Positioned as China's inland hub for air transportation, Huahu Airport's radiating and driving functions are beginning to emerge. By 28th October, the annual cargo and mail throughput at Ezhou Huahu Airport had reached 120,000 tons, with international cargo constituting nearly 24% of the total. The tax revenue collected by Ezhou Customs has surpassed RMB 1 billion.
By far, Huahu Airport has embraced a model that combines a "cargo airport + leading airline + multimodal transportation + airport economic zone", drawing domestic and international goods to be transshipped through Ezhou. Notably, well-known domestic and foreign enterprises such as China Post and Sinotrans have established operations and development in Ezhou.
