The Ezhou Municipal Commerce Bureau recently announced that from January to October this year, Ezhou city achieved a historic high in the total value of foreign trade imports and exports, reaching RMB 5.14 billion. This marks a 47.1% increase compared to the previous year, placing Ezhou city second among all cities and prefectures in the province. The growth rate is 46.5% higher than the provincial average, 9.8% higher than Ezhou city's highest import and export value in 2019, registering a 20.4% yoy increase. Ezhou city surpassed the annual target two months ahead of schedule. The export value reached RMB 2.71 billion, a 40.2% yoy increase, ranking second among all cities and prefectures in the province. The import value reached RMB 2.43 billion, a 55.5% yoy increase, ranking third among all cities and prefectures in the province.
"The introduction of international express services at Ezhou Huahu Airport has enhanced the efficiency of goods transportation. The establishment of an air cargo network spanning Asia and extending to Europe and America at Huahu Airport is expected to significantly boost Ezhou city's foreign trade development," said a relevant official from the Municipal Commerce Bureau.
