The Ezhou Municipal Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs announced on 23rd November that the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, and the Ministry of Justice had recently released the third batch of national rural governance demonstration village list, which included Maoqi Village in Donggou Town, Liangzihu District.
Ezhou city is committed to discovering effective models of rural governance through pilot projects and exemplary initiatives. The city gives priority to the comprehensive utilisation of traditional governance resources and modern methods, promoting the use of point-based and list-based governance techniques. Furthermore, the city is implementing grid-based management, digital empowerment, and improved services in rural areas to effectively support village regulations and family education. This is aimed at nurturing positive family traditions, preserving local customs, and fostering a rural environment with strong cultural and ethical standards.
Maoqi Village in Donggou Town, Liangzihu District, has creatively developed the "Qiaoqiao Studio" model to address various issues faced by villagers in their daily lives. After over four years of exploration, a comprehensive grassroots service model of "mass ordering, studio dispatching, party member volunteers taking orders, and public evaluation" has been established. This model has effectively addressed the challenges in serving the community, creating a unique grassroots governance service brand. It has also paved the way for launching initiatives to raise the public’s cultural and ethical standards in rural areas in the new era, provided substantial support for grassroots governance, and consistently improved the well-being and happiness of the community. Currently, Ezhou city is promoting the "Qiaoqiao Studio" model on a wider scale, establishing numerous "Qiaoqiao social governance studios" in urban and rural areas, and has recognised 32 villages and communities as municipal-level demonstration points.
Previously, the city had a total of four villages, which included Dongshan Village in Changgang Town, Ezhou District, Wusheng Village and Baixi Village in Duandian Town, Huarong District, and Chentai Village in Taihe Town, Liangzihu District. These villages were recognised as the first and second batches of national rural governance demonstration villages.
