On the morning of 28th December, the removement of fences set at the Fenghuang intersection marked the full opening of the Yangtze Avenue and Riverside Park in Ezhou City.
The Yangtze Avenue and Riverside Park project, constructed by China First Metallurgical Group Co.,LTD, which spans 3.73 kilometers, extending from Fenghuang Road, passing under the Yangtze River Bridge of Ezhou-Huanggang section, and concluding at Wuzhanggang Road, is one of the key municipal projects with a comprehensive environmental improvement area of 838,300 square meters.
The Yangtze Avenue has served as an important planned municipal road for the outer ring road of Ezhou City. Upon opening to traffic, it is expected to intersect with secondary lanes in the urban area of Ezhou to address poor traffic condition issue with other cities and improve the overall traffic efficiency.
As a key component of Ezhou City’s efforts to create a “Golden Tourism Line of Three Kingdoms ( i.e. Wei，Shu, and Wu),” the park is themed around three picturesque scenes: ancient poetic charm, modern urban image, and the ecological integration with the future city. It combines the Ezhou’s historical features with ecological landscape, providing a wonderful place of daily leisure and entertainment for citizens. The project features eight highlight scenic spots covering an area of about 20,000 square meters: “Eyes of Ezhou” – a green lawn, “Natural Oxygen Bar” – a wetland full of flowers, “Children’s Playground” – a fun park for kids, and city light and shadow that showcasing the modern urban image of Ezhou.
Upon completion, this project will significantly enhance the city’s flood control and drainage capacity, easing traffic pressure in the urban area, improving the living condition of the city as land by water, and extending the ecological landscape of Ezhou City.
