At the beginning of the new year, the Ezhou Power Generation Plant, main power source of Hubei electric power supply, whose daily electricity generation exceeds 61.9 million kWh, and the heating supply surpasses 3450 tons, provided a solid guarantee for Hubei Province to meet the peak demand this winter with 6 units fully operating.
Ezhou Power Generation Plant, as the largest thermal power plant in Hubei Province, has functioned as a crucial electricity supply point of East Ezhou as well as a supporting role for west-east and north-south electricity transmission project of Central China Branch of State Grid Coporation of China. With a total installed capacity of 3.96 million kW and an annual power generation capacity exceeding 20 billion kWh, the plant has played a key role in ensuring energy supply in Hubei Province. On the Eve of New Year’s Day, Ezhou Power Generation Plant officially entered full operation state with all six units, after the transformation and upgrade of low-nitrogen transformation for Unit 2, turbine flow modification for Unit 4, and distributed control system. On 2th January, the plant generated over 69 million kWh of electricity and provided over 3540 tons of heating for the public.
To ensure a steady energy supply for the peak demand this winter, Ezhou Power Generation Plant intensified efforts to secure coal resources for its units. As of 3th January, the plant has 714,900 tons of coal in storage, providing sufficient support for all units to operate for 22 days. Besides, inspection for all units also had been made in advance to further safeguard the steady operation. Strict oversight has also been maintained over checks, operational monitoring, and overhauls to ensure safe and stable units operation during cold weather. These measures have all contributed to keep the public warm this winter.
