Recently, the Department of Science and Technology of Hubei Province approved the key R&D Special Projects for the third batch of provincial science and technology projects in 2023, with two projects from the Gedian Economic Development Zone listed. Last year, the zone had a record number of 49 projects selected for central and provincial-level science and technology projects, achieving the highest level of funding in history.
The two projects listed in the third batch of provincial science and technology projects in 2023 are the researches of weather-resistant liquid ring vacuum pump equipment by Hubei Tongfang High-Tech Pump Co., Ltd. and the small-sized nitride LED chips for display by Hubei San’an Optoelectronics Co., Ltd., each of which will receive financial support of 1 million yuan from the Hubei government after approval.
Last year, the Gedian Economic Development Zone fully leveraged its leading and supporting role in scientific and technological innovation and intensified efforts to identify and select enterprises in the jurisdiction. The zone has adopted a strategy of “planning, reserving, cultivating, and implementing” to comprehensively explore new trends and technological demand of enterprises in research and development in various forms, thus reserving a batch of projects in the field, and receiving a total of 33.45 million yuan in funding for science and technology projects at or above the provincial level throughout the year, an increase of 200% year-on-year.
