“Scanning QR code in the phone to enter the train station is more convenient, and there are more trains available, providing more choices for me from Ezhou to Wuhan now.” On 24th January, the Wuhan-Ezhou-Huanggang-Huangshi Intercity Railway put into operation in the mass transit type periodic system, and Mr. He, a citizen scanned QR code in the phone to take the “New City Express” train, just like taking the subway.
The “New City Express” is a new brand created by the Hubei Provincial Party Committee and the Government to integrate four kinds of rail transit networks in Hubei. It is a specific measure to accelerate the high-quality and integrated development of the Wuhan metropolitan area to promote the high-quality and sustainable development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt. As a new inter-city smart type, the train is independently developed by China, with the first use of Black-tech such as intelligently-assisted driving and digital twin to achieve full intelligent scenarios application, known as the “smart messenger in urban areas.”
Currently, the “New City Express” train operates on the two intercity railways from Wuhan to Huangshi and from Wuhan to Huanggang in the mass transit type periodic system, with stations including Daye North, Huangshi North, Huanggang West, Ezhou, and Wuhan East. The train aims to achieve functions such as convenient commuting, fast speed, large capacity, and green interconnection. Characterized by special purpose and efficient transportation, it not only meets the increasing travel demand of the people between Wuhan and Ezhou, Huanggang, and Huangshi, but also provides strong support for accelerating the construction of the Wuhan metropolitan area centered on Wuhan-Ezhou-Huanggang-Huangshi as well as a high-level Wuhan new city and the Optics Valley Science and Technology Innovation Corridor.
