On March 8, at the road project site of Yanhua Road (Huanhu Fourth Road-Airport South Road), loading trucks, rollers, pavers shuttle traveled back and forth and dozens of workers were busy with construction. The truck was pouring the asphalt into the paver, which was moving slowly along the road. The workers were carrying rakes, shovels and other tools, walking on the hot asphalt, and scraping or shoveling the asphalt to every corner of the road. Subsequently, different types of large-sized, medium-sized and small-sized rollers on the road keep repeatedly rolling to ensure that the asphalt are level and compact.
“The construction of Yanhua Road is progressing smoothly. It has now entered the asphalt paving stage for the surface layer, and it is expected that the task of asphalt paving will be completed within a week,” said Zhang Hongwei, Head of the Yanhua Road Municipal Engineering project site, “At the same time, we have increased investment in personnel and equipment, and stepped up work on paving sidewalks and non-motorized lanes, the construction of main corridors, greening and planting, and ancillary projects. So far, 92% of the road works, 88% of the water supply and drainage works, 87% of the pipe works, 91% of the bridge works and 91% of the lighting works have been completed, ensuring that the whole project will be completed by the end of Match.”
It is found that the road project of Yanhua Road (Huanhu Fourth Road-Airport South Road) has served as Ezhou’s “Three Vertical” Project of the “Three Vertical and Three Horizontal” expressway system, functioning as the North-South traffic arteries of the Airport Economic Zone. The investment of the project totals about 1.008 billion yuan. The designed route is about 3.6 kilometers long and 55 meters wide, with six lanes in both directions. The designed speed is about 60 kilometers per hour. After the completion of the project, it will play an important role in promoting the construction of “dual hub” of both Wuhan Tianhe Airport and Huahu Airport for passengers and cargo, and further improve the urban skeleton and transportation system of Airport Economic Zone.
