Ezhou Cultural Center project serves as a major livelihood project under construction in Ezhou and also a brand-new model of cultural complex. On March 13, the reporter sees the building roof steel mesh frame lifting work is in full swing in the project construction site; the weight of the steel structure grid work totals more than 1400 tons, which has completed 40% of the project. “After the Spring Festival, we quickly organized workers to enter the construction site and arranged for them to work overtime and two shifts at night. According to the demand on the site, another 400-ton crawler crane was brought in, which increased the work efficiency by 50% so as to ensure the completion of the construction on April 30,” said Zhao Li, the project’s Chief Engineer.
With a total investment of about 550 million RMB, the project of Ezhou Cultural Centre is located in the north side of Airport Avenue in Airport Economic Zone, by taking the 1,200-seat Grand Theatre as the core function, which can meet the needs of operas, dance dramas, musicals, theaters, plays and other performances both at home and abroad. At the same time, the 240-seat black-box theatre, art gallery and related auxiliary facilities are supported as well.
The project is designed with the overall idea of “an impressive landscape of peaks and clouds”, aiming to create a cultural complex that reflects the past and the present, and looks forward to the future; The landscape design takes the meaning of “high mountains and flowing water”, with reasonable landscape greening and pavement layout. There are several areas, including a mountain leisure park, a core activity plaza, a sunken theater, etc., in order to ensure smooth function on the basis of the increase in the enjoyment of the visual arts. When it is completed and put into use, it will become an ideal place for the public to relax and have fun. “The construction of outdoor greening will be completed in about May to ensure that the landscape effect of 'high mountains and flowing rivers' by taking buildings as mountains, trees as water and greening as an accompaniment, which will be presented by the end of October.” Zhao Li said.
Ezhou Cultural Center project is scheduled to be completed by the end of December this year. At present, the main structure of the project has been completed.
