On March 26, the reporter learned from the Municipal Bureau of Commerce that from January to February, the total import and export value of Ezhou reached 1.19 billion yuan, up by 70.2% year-on-year. The growth rate was 57.5 percentage points higher than that of the whole province, ranking second in Hubei Province.
It is learned that Ezhou’s export totaled 710 million yuan from January to February, showing an increase of 110.7% year-on-year. Its growth rate was higher than the whole province about 96.7 percentage points, which ranks second in Hubei Province; the import totaled 480 million yuan, an increase of 32% year-on-year and the growth rate was higher than that of the whole province about 22.2 percentage points, ranking seventh in Hubei Province.
Since this year, the Commerce Bureau of Ezhou has strengthened the tracking and monitoring of key import and export enterprises in Hubei Province, including Egang Steel, Fengshu Thread Manufacturing, Gedian Humanwell Pharmaceutical, Ronbay Lithium Battery, etc., by coordinating with customs, finance, tax, foreign exchange administration and other departments, regularly holding in-depth activities to facilitate the promotion of enterprises, improving the export quality of key enterprises, and expanding the export volume of existing enterprises. Efforts are made to increase the proportion of “made-in-Ezhou” products exported and promote the conversion of supply-based export to self-supporting export.
Measures are taken to strengthen the function of the foreign trade integrated service center, and help foreign trade enterprises to make breakthrough and multiply. With Ezhou Huahu Airport put into operation, 34 foreign trade enterprises were added last year, which has a pulling effect on the foreign trade import and export of Ezhou. At the same time, Ezhou has seized the opportunity of applying for the construction of the comprehensive pilot zone for cross-border e-commerce and the bonded logistics center, by vigorously developing businesses such as cross-border e-commerce and bonded logistics and promoting the development of bonded import businesses such as Vipshop and Tik Tok, in an aim to further diversify its foreign trade.
