On April 8, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs announced the Approval List of Leading Agricultural Industry Township Project, Dushan Town of Echeng City was on the list.
In May 2022, Dushan Town of Echeng District was successfully registered as the first leading agricultural industrial town in China. Dushan town is rich in aquatic resources and has enjoyed obvious advantages in Wuchang fish industry, with 27,000 acres of high-standard fish pond and 57,000 acres of aquaculture water surface. It has the only national-level Wuchang Fish Breeding Farm-Wuchang bream (Wuchang fish) breeding farm in Hubei Province——Hubei Funong Food Industrial Park Co. , Ltd. In 2020, it was named as the national “one feature product for one village ” demonstration town (Wuchang fish) , and Haida group was introduced in to establish a breeding center for aquatic seedlings. In 2023, the town successfully declared a special-purpose treasury bond to build Wuchang Fish Industrial Park.
The first phase of the project of Agriculture-strengthening Town in Dushan Town, Echeng District, is mainly implemented for three business entities, namely Hubei Funong Food Industrial Park Co., Ltd, Hubei Li Taipo Agricultural Development Co., Ltd, and Hubei Hanshi Co., Ltd. Since 2022, it has given full play to the role of the government support and guidance, by leveraging social capital with financial funds to accelerate product research and development and industrial upgrading. Hubei Hanshi Co. Ltd. has expanded its production capacity after the expansion of the enterprise scale, enhanced costs and sales. Hubei Li Taipo Agricultural Development Co. Ltd. has made great breakthrough in the research and development and external promotion of Wuchang fish brand. The typical experience of breeding Wuchang fish in aquaculture bases such as Wuchang Fish Original Seed Farm and Donggang Tomorrow Ecological Park has a greater impact on the whole province.
Through the implementation of the project, efforts are made to promote the development of the leading Wuchang fish industry, by promoting the flow of factors among urban and rural areas, villages and towns. Agricultural products processing, leisure agriculture, e-commerce and other secondary and tertiary industries are developing well. The output value of the whole industrial chain of the Wuchang fish industry reached 1.25 billion yuan, bringing 7,900 people to work in local and neighboring areas, up 1.3% year-on-year, and the per capita disposable income of farmers in the whole town reached 25,800 yuan, up 6.2% year-on-year.
