At 21 p.m. on May 4, a Boeing 747-400 all-cargo plane arrived safely at Ezhou Huahu Airport, and after a short stay, it was loaded with 105 tons of goods and then flew to Chicago O’Hare International Airport.
This has marked the official opening of the international cargo route “Ezhou═Chicago”, which also became the first link between China and the United States in their central regions of the international cargo route. The first flight carries export goods, mainly high-end digital electronic products. The international cargo terminal has completed security checks, boarding, customs clearance and other air transport ground operations, the goods were transported by air to Chicago. In terms of the timeliness for cargo transport, the flight will save at least 20 hours compared with the previous practice of being transported by truck after landing at the airport on the east coast of the United States.
Previously, Ezhou Huahu Airport has opened two direct international cargo routes to the United States, namely “Ezhou═New York”, “Ezhou═Los Angeles”. This time, the “Ezhou═ Chicago” cargo line introduced by Kerry Logistics will jointly build an “air bridge” to promote economic and trade exchanges between China and the United States, all cargo flights from Ezhou to the United States will also be put into normal management.
“In addition to SF Airlines, Kerry Logistics has become the first partner to introduce U.S. line capacity for Ezhou Huahu Airport.” said Jiang Tao, Senior Vice President of Kerry Logistics (China). According to the plan, Ezhou Huahu Airport will also open international cargo routes to Huntsville Airport in Midwestern United States, which will lay a solid foundation for deepening international economic and trade cooperation and speeding up the building of an international free trade airport zone. The reporter learned that the second all-cargo plane “Ezhou═Chicago” international cargo route landed at Ezhou Huahu Airport on the early morning of May 5th. During this trip, e-commerce goods and aviation general cargo accounted for half.
Up to now, Ezhou Huahu Airport has opened 48 domestic cargo routes and 16 international cargo routes, thus gradually building up a route network layout radiating Europe, North America, the Middle East and Asia.
