On May 17, the reporter learned from Ezhou Huahu International Airport that the national “Top 10” airport cargo and mail throughput of the first quarter came out, and the Huahu Airport ranked sixth, with its growth rate topping No.1 domestically.

In the first quarter, its cargo and mail throughput of Huahu Airport reached 151,000 tons, surpassing Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport, Chengdu Shuangliu Airport and Chongqing Jiangbei Airport for the first time, and ranking it into the Top 10 in China. Currently, Huahu Airport has become the largest airport in the central and western regions, with a significant increase in cargo and mail throughput, up 1,465.02% year-on-year, ranking first domestically in terms of the growth rate.
Since this year, the number of cargo flights landing and taking off at Huahu Airport has continued to stabilize and ranked the fourth in China, with the highest single-day cargo flights landing and taking off at 120, and cargo handling capacity of nearly 3,000 tons.
This year, Huahu Airport opened six international cargo routes and three domestic cargo routes, we are negotiating to follow up on 10 international cargo routes from Ezhou to Orsha in Belarus, New York in the United States, Maastricht in the Netherlands, etc. It has initially set up an aviation network layout radiating Europe, America, the Middle East, Asia and Africa, while the annual cargo and mail throughput is expected to reach 1.2 million tons.
It is reported that on May 15, the Civil Aviation Administration of China(CAAC) approved the renaming of “Ezhou Huahu Airport” to “Ezhou Huahu International Airport”, which is the first professional cargo hub airport approved as an international airport in China. The renamed Ezhou Huahu International Airport will join hands with Wuhan Tianhe International Airport to jointly build a double hub for civil aviation passenger and cargo transportation in Hubei, and further open the inland “air to the sea” for Hubei.
