On June 19th, a Boeing 747 cargo plane of Atlas Airlines took off smoothly from Ezhou Huahu International Airport to Chicago, marking the first successful flight of the scheduled cargo route of APEX’s “Ezhou═America”.
It is reported that this route is carried by Apex International Logistics (China) Co., Ltd. and flown by Atlas Air, a well-known U.S. all-cargo aircraft operator, and the first inbound flight arrived at 2:39 a.m. on the same day at the Huahu International Airport. The flight contained imported goods such as cross-border commodities and fresh food, and after a short stopover, it will be fully loaded with 105 tons of exported goods and departed for Chicago. The export cargo of this flight covers cross-border commodities, Lenovo electronic products, etc., which are mainly from Hubei and neighboring regions, in order to promote the “return of Hubei goods to Hubei”(which means effectively driving Hubei high-end manufacturing back to Hubei Air Cargo Market) , attracting trans-shipment goods from East China, South China and other regions, and effectively expanding the cross-border logistics network in Hubei. The coverage of Hubei’s cross-border logistics network has been effectively expanded.
On the afternoon of June 18, Jiang Hao, Senior Vice President of Apex International Logistics (China) Co. , Ltd. , introduced the international cargo shipping route “Ezhou ═ America” at the promotion conference, “Ezhou ═ America” scheduled cargo flights will fly every Tuesday from Huahu International Airport to Chicago in the initial stage. In the future, in addition to the plan to increase the number of flights to Chicago, the company also plans to increase the number of flights to the west coast of the United States. It is expected that by the end of this year, the scheduled cargo flight “Ezhou ═ America” will reach more than 10 flights per week, and the annual cargo and mail throughput will reach more than 40,000 tons while the total value of import and export is estimated at more than $3 billion. “In the future, there will be two-way flights on the regular freight route, which will expand capacity to countries in Central and South America, including Brazil, Chile and Mexico, etc. At the same time, Apex will actively explore the possibility of connecting Southeast Asian countries such as Vietnam, Thailand and Malaysia to Ezhou, further extending the Ezhou-centered air cargo network to major countries and ports in Asia-Pacific and Oceania,” Jiang said.
The opening of “Ezhou ═America” scheduled cargo route will effectively enhance the scale of air logistics capacity between Hubei and America, expand the distribution of air routes between Hubei and America (including the United States and Latin American countries), and help cultivate and grow the industrial clusters of semiconductor manufacturing, electronic information and new materials, life healthcare, and high-end equipment manufacturing in Hubei and even central China.
Up to now, Huahu International Airport has opened 19 international cargo routes, 50 domestic cargo routes, the average daily cargo flights take-off and landing flights ranked Top 4 domestically. Single-day cargo and mail throughput has reached more than 2,000 tons. So far this year, 311,000 tons (including 59,000 tons international cargo) have been handled, and the total freight volume has broken new highs. With the official opening of Huahu International Airport aviation port, four types of designated customs control sites for imported fruits, edible aquatic animals, chilled aquatic products and meat have been approved subsequently, Ezhou Airport Bonded Logistics Center (Type B) closed operation, the national pilot project for the construction of smart ports has been steadily advanced, and the level of openness has been upgraded in an all-round way.
