The?launch?ceremony?of?the?third?edition?of?Yangtze Finless Porpoise Month?is?held?in Wuhan,?capital?city?of?Hubei?Province.?
The third edition?of Yangtze Finless Porpoise Month was launched?in Wuhan?on May 22, marking the International Day for Biological Diversity.
During the event, the?achievements?of?"Digital Yangtze Finless Porpoises", an innovation project launched in?June?last year, was unveiled by the Wuhan Municipal Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs. And a conservation center for?"Digital Yangtze Finless Porpoises" was officially put into service.
Two Yangtze finless porpoises, which were released in the?Honghu?section?of?the?Yangtze?River?on April 25 this year, have become part of the species' natural population, according to Mei Zhigang, a researcher?of Institute?of?Hydrobiology,?Chinese?Academy?of?Sciences.
In addition, the Tian'ezhou Nature Reserve and Wuhan?Baiji?Conservation?Foundation have jointly rolled out an adoption?project?of?Yangtze Finless Porpoises?in the?ex-situ?conservation area.?People?applying for adoption will have the opportunity to observe Yangtze finless porpoises?in the nature reserve.?(en.hubei.gov.cn by Zhang Yawei）
