Hubei’s vice governor Shao Xinyu highlighted the importance of continuously deepening cooperation between Hubei and Africa on July 5, 2023.
He made the remarks when he met with representatives of foreign government agencies and diplomatic envoys attending the 2023 China-Africa Innovation Cooperation and Developmen Forum which will commence on July 6.
Shao noted that the friendship between Hubei and Africa established 60 years ago. With steady economic development, solid industrial foundation, superior transportation location, outstanding scientific and educational advantages, and sound opening-up environment, Hubei is an ideal place for African countries to invest and develop business. Hubei is willing to deepen cooperation, advance scientific and technological exchanges and share results, as well as closer cooperation in modern commerce and trade with African countries.
Egyptian Deputy Minister of Higher Education for Scientific Research Affairs Yasser Refaat lauded the brotherhood with China, and the rich natural resources and human resources in Africa. He hoped to strengthen exchanges and cooperation in academic, scientific research, scientific and technological innovation, institutional building and other fields, so as to integrate superior resources, and promote economic and social development of both sides.
The ambassador of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) to China François Nkuna Balumuene said that China and Africa will further cooperation in scientific and technological innovation and other fields, share resources and work together to achieve win-win results through the event.
