The 2023 International Conference on the Cooperation and Integration of Industry, Education, Research and Application (Hubei) was held on Nov. 4 at the Huazhong University of Science and Technology in Wuhan, capital city of Hubei Province.
Under the theme of “open innovation and integrated development”, the conference focused on three topics: integration of industry, education and research to promote the cultivation of innovative talents, school-enterprise cooperation to accelerate the conversion of scientific research results, and international industry-education-research cooperation to enhance human well-being.
The event invited more than 200 academicians, experts and scholars from universities, enterprises and research institutes from 24 countries and regions.
A total of six universities, including Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan University, Hubei University, Wuhan University of Science and Technology, Central China Normal University and Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, took the lead to organize 25 sub-forums in eight professional fields during the event.
At the opening ceremony, two scientific research cooperation platforms were unveiled, namely, the China-German Joint Laboratory of Cardiopulmonary Science jointly built by the Huazhong University of Science and Technology and the Goethe University Frankfurt, and the China-Africa Low Carbon Metallurgical Center jointly built by the Wuhan University of Science and Technology, the University of Pretoria in South Africa, the Covenant University in Nigeria and the Ain Shams University in Egypt.
In addition, Chinese and foreign universities and institutions also jointly signed 18 cooperation agreements, such as joint undergraduate and graduate program between the Huazhong University of Science and Technology and the National University of Singapore, and cooperation agreement between the Wuhan University and the University of British Columbia.
