2023 COCPDC opens in Wuhan

  The 2023 Conference on Overseas Chinese Pioneering and Developing in China (COCPDC)opened on November 16, in Wuhan, capital city of Hubei Province. 

  More than 700 guests from 67 countries and regions attended the opening ceremony and over 2,000 representatives took part in various parallel sessions. 2013 Nobel Prize winner in Chemistry Michael Levittmember of the Canadian Academy of Engineeringandthe European Academy of Sciences Guo Song, Chairman of UK Chinese Business Association Zhang Jinlong and the honorary president of the Chinese General Chamber of Commerce, Hong Kong, Choy Koon-sham delivered speeches at the opening ceremony. 

  During this years COCPDC, Hubei totally brought in 113 projects, and 27 out of which were signed at the opening ceremony. The 27 projects, with a total investment of 30.8 billion yuan, focus on cooperation of science, education and talent, biomedicine, advanced manufacturing, new energy, new materials, high-end equipment and other fields.  

  Over the past more than 20 years, COCPDC has being acted as a bridge to attract talents and investment, witnessing more than 20,000 overseas Chinese come to Hubei for exchanges and more than 2,800 projects signed in the province. (en.hubei.gov.cn by Ruan Xinqi)
