Hubei receives over 700 mln visits in 2023

  In 2023, Hubei Province welcomed over 700 million?visits?and achieved a comprehensive tourism revenue exceeding 700 billion yuan, surpassing the levels recorded in 2019, local media?reported on January 19, 2024, citing a meeting related to the development of tourism in Hubei.

  Recognizing the growing market demand in 2023, Hubei Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism launched marketing campaigns in 11?major cities?in China. According to sampling statistics, 20 key tourist attractions?in the province totally received 31.0275 million visits throughout the year, marking a year-on-year growth of 152.23 percent.Travel agencies signed 319,000 electronic contracts with a total value of 3.309 billion yuan, and served 40.11 million group tourists, up 149 percent, 254 percent, and 208 percent, respectively.

  Hubei is ramping up?efforts to upgrade its tourism industry, with 148 projects valued at over 300 million yuan each currently in progress, totaling an investment of 205.4 billion yuan. Besides, 104 major projects?have been newly signed, amounting to a total of 217.1 billion yuan, with 61 projects already underway.

  In 2024, Hubei will utilize tourism in driving progress, ensuring both quality and safety in its development.
