Hubei’s A-level scenic spots received a total of 14.02 million visitors during this year's Spring Festival holiday, which runs from February 10 to 17, according to the Department of Culture and Tourism of Hubei Province on February 17, 2024.
The figure marks a 40.05-percent increase and a 70.38-percent increase from the same period in 2023 and 2019, respectively.
During the eight-day holiday, the province organized a total of 4011 cultural activities, attracting 15.06 million participants.
The Yellow Crane Tower Park, East Lake, Wudang Mountain Scenic Area, and Yichang Three Gorges Dam remained popular among tourists, while going for city-walk or spending a mini-holiday in rural areas became the latest trends. Moreover, ski resorts and hot springs in the province also attracted a good number of tourists.
In addition, special night tours across the province enriched the visitors’experience as well. During the holiday, Wuhan, capital city of Hubei, received 4.93 million night tour visitors, an increase of 162.11 percent over the same period of 2023, seeing night economy reach 1.48 billion yuan, up 1472.34 percent year on year, sampling statistics showed.(en.hubei.gov.cn by Ruan Xinqi and Li Yiang)
