With the landing of a Boeing 747-400 all-cargo freighter at the Huahu Airport in Ezhou City, Hubei Province, a new air freight service connecting Ezhou and Chicago in the United States was launched on May 4, 2024.
This plane, carrying 105 tons of high-end electronics, returned to the O'Hare International Airport in Chicago after a short stop.
It marks the first international all-cargo air route linking the central regions of China and the United States. Three flights between the two destinations have been scheduled to be operated each week.
So far, Huahu airport has opened direct air freight routes to connect New York and Los Angeles in the United States. According to plan, the airport will launch another new air freight route to the Huntsville International Airport in the Midwestern United States in the future.
