Hubei received 14.2476 million visits during the five-day May Day holiday, up 25.93 percent and 13.53 percent over the same period in 2019 and 2023, according to the Department of Culture and Tourism of Hubei Province.
The province organized a series of cultural and tourism activities to attract visitors during the holiday, including countryside trips and various performances.
Data indicated that Hubei’s main tourism-generating regions were Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen, Changsha and Chongqing.
Wuhan, capital city of Hubei Province, ranked the eighth place among national popular destinations during the May Day holiday. The top tourist destinations in the city included Qingchuan Pavilion, Yellow Crane Tower, Wuhan Zoo, East Lake and night tour of the Yangtze River.
