Hubei sees inbound tourism increase in H1

  Hubei received tourists from all over the world in the first half of the year (H1), with Wuhan, Yichang and Shiyan becoming popular tourist destinations for foreign tourists, local cultural and tourism authorities said on June 27, 2024. 

  Among all the inbound tourists to Hubei, the number of foreign tourists had jumped by 84.42 percent year on year as of June 20, who generated an online consumption increase of 189.88 percent. 

  The number of tourists from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan expanded by 58.87 percent year on year during the same period, who pushed the online consumption amount by 76.79 percent, data showed. 

  At present, direct international flights to Wuhan has reached 35 percent of that in 2019. In addition to tourists from Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and Southeast Asia, tourists from the United States, Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, France and other countries to Hubei in the second half of 2024 are expected to continue to grow due to the increasing number of international flights. (en.hubei.gov.cn by Ruan Xinqi)
