Shijiahe site museum starts construction in Tianmen, Hubei

  The Shijiahe site museum started construction on July 21, 2024, in Tianmen City, Hubei Province. With a total investment of about 220 million yuan, it is expected to be put into use by the end of 2025. 

  The project is an important part of the Shijiahe National Archaeological Site Park. Its total planned area covers 74,700 square meters, comprising a 46,500-square-meter museum zone, a 28,100-square-meter visitor service center zone and other subzones. 

  The Shijiahe site, dating back 5,900-3,800 years, is a major Neolithic settlement in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River. The Shijiahe culture is renowned for its exquisite jade artifacts. (en.hubei.gov.cn by Ruan Xinqi)
