Hubei's foreign trade up 10.4 pct in first 10 months

  Hubei's imports and exports stood at 560.34 billion yuan in the first 10 months of 2024, up 10.4 percent year on year, local customs said on November 15.

  Of the total, exports posted 378.37 billion yuan, surging by 11.4 percent from the same period last year, while imports gained 8.4 percent to 181.97 billion yuan.
  Private enterprises witnessed strong performance with the import and export volume hitting 381.62 billion yuan over the period, while the imports and exports of state-owned enterprises and foreign-invested enterprises reached 95.26 billion yuan and 83.24 billion yuan, respectively.
  From January to October, Hubei's imports and exports with its top three trading partners - ASEAN, the European Union and the United States - stood at 114.64 billion yuan, 64.64 billion yuan and 52.09 billion yuan, respectively.
  Meanwhile, the province’s trade with countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative totaled 271.84 billion yuan.
  Wuhan, capital city of Hubei Province, posted 331.2 billion yuan in foreign trade, contributing 59.1 percent to the province's total during the same period.
  Exports of mechanical and electrical products amounted to 206.07 billion yuan, taking up a 54.5-percent share of the province's total over the period. (en.hubei.gov.cn by Zhang Yawei)
