Hubei's imports and exports represented a year-on-year growth of 9.6 percent to 705.84 billion yuan in 2024, 4.6 percentage points higher than the national average, local customs said on Monday.
There were 9,570 foreign trade enterprises with import and export performance in the province over the period. The number of private enterprises accounted for more than 90 percent, with the import and export volume hitting 487.4 billion yuan, contributing nearly 70 percent to the province's total foreign trade volume.
During the same period, Hubei’s exports of high-tech products increased by 19.8 percent, taking up a 25.5-percent share of the total exports. Imports of integrated circuits and consumer goods posted 30 billion yuan and 17.33 billion yuan, respectively.
In 2024, the province’s trade with countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative totaled 376 billion yuan, while its trade with ASEAN and Latin America ascended by 38.7 percent and 10.3 percent, respectively. (en.hubei.gov.cn by Zhang Yawei)
