So far, the China-Europe freight train service operating from Wuhan, Hubei Province, has exported a total of 59,440 TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent units) of goods to Russia, worth approximately 12.9 billion yuan, while imported 170,142 TEUs with a value of around 6.3 billion yuan, according to its operator on June 23, 2025.
As a vital international logistics corridor linking Hubei and Russia, the China-Europe freight trains have served as a bridge of cooperation and friendship spanning the Eurasian continent.
Since launch in 2015, the Russia-bound China-Europe freight trains from Wuhan have expanded their reach across the country. To date, several logistics routes have been established to connect 22 Russian cities, basically achieving nationwide coverage.
Thanks to the China-Europe freight train service, products made in Hubei, including machinery equipment, auto parts, new energy vehicles, and garments, can enter the Russian market in just 14 days. Meanwhile, imported goods such as pulp, timber, and polyethylene can be efficiently delivered to support domestic industries.
In addition, the China-Europe freight trains have imported nearly 30 categories of Russian products to Wuhan over the years, including beer, wafer biscuits, ice cream, chocolate, honey, flour, cooking oil, beverages, cereal, and cookies. (en.hubei.gov.cn by Ruan Xinqi)
